Saffron Walden Museum first opened in 1835 and has ruins of Walden's 12th century castle in its grounds.
Friendly family size museum includes exhibits on local history, decorative arts, ethnography, archaeology and local nature and geology.
The Museum has disabled access and a small car park. Special exhibitions and events are held throughout the year and there is a schools service. Please contact for further details.

March to October: Monday-Saturday 10.00am-5.00pm; Sundays and Bank Holidays 2.00pm-5.00pm.
November to February: Monday-Saturday 10.00am-4.30pm; Sunday and Bank Holidays 2.00pm-4.30pm.
