The Society holds meetings between September and December and between February and May. The mmetings are normally held on the first Thursday of the month and they are open to non-members. There is normally a speaker at each meeting.

A few members of the group carry out research and the Society publishes a journal each year.

Venue: Baptist Hall, Markyate.

Publications: Markyate's Past, The Gate (The Society's newletter).
