The Kings Langley Local History and Museum Society exists to recount the history of the village and make it more widely known. Kings Langley has an extraordinary history of which few other villages can boast, including:
* A Roman settlement and thriving Domesday community;
* A royal hunting lodge at the time of Henry III and a royal palace between the reigns of Edward I and Henry IV;
* A Dominican friary from Edward II to the Dissolution;
* A 14-15th century church containing the tomb of Edmund, son of Edward III, First Duke of York;
* A succession of mills from Norman times to the 20th Century;
* The manufacture of world famous Ovaltine, from its creation until 2002;
* A wealth of transport history - a Roman road, a turnpike, the M25, the Grand Union Canal, the Stephensons' Railway to Birmingham and beyond.
