A society for those interested in the history of the market town of Hitchin and the county of Hertfordshire.
The Society holds meetings, social events, visits to buildings, businesses and institutions throughout the year, and coach excursions further afield in the spring and autumn.
* Venue for meetings:
Church House, Church Yard, Hitchin.
* Day/time of meetings:
Fourth Thursday of each month (but not June, July, August or December) at 8.00pm.
Members are involved in researching local history and there is a publication programme for their work. Members receive copies of the Society's newsletter and the Hitchin Journal, twice a year.
Membership is open to anyone of any age. New members welcome. The annual subscription is: £5 (single); £7 (joint); 50p (junior).
