Historical Association (Hertfordshire Branch)

The Historical Association aims to promote history in its widest sense. It offers publications, lectures and courses for specialists and teachers. The local lectures are open to members of the general public.

Upon joining the national Organisation, a member automatically becomes a member of the local branch.

Venue: Meets at the Backhouse Room, Handside Lane, Welwyn Garden City. Lectures begin at 3.00pm, unless otherwise stated.

Membership offers:
* Information on the above, plus a quarterly magazine, the 'Historian';
* Other journals at a discount (History, Teaching History, Annual Bulletin of Historical Literature);
* Day conferences;
* Visits to historic sites.

* 28th March 2009: 'Henry VIII, Renaissance Monarch: 500 year on' by Dr Glenn Richardson, Deputy Head, School of Theology, Philosphy and History, St Mary's University College.
