This is the Hoddesdon group of the Hertfordshire Family History Society. They meet in the Baptist Church Hall, Burford Street, Hoddesdon, on the corner of Essex Road on the first Thursday of the month at 8.00pm.
They act as a self-help group where more experienced researchers are willing to pass on knowledge to newcomers. The group also works on local projects such as recording gravestone memorials in the churches in the local area.
Membership of the Society entitles you to attend meetings of the whole society, held once a month on a Saturday afternoon. The main Society meetings are from 1.30pm-5.00pm. There is also a computer group, research facilities, speaker and bookstall. The Society also entitles you to submit your research interests for inclusion in their Members Interest Index, receive 'Hertfordshire People' four times a year and generally join in the activities of the society.
