The aim of this society is to further education in the study of family and population history mainly within the county of Hertfordshire.
There is a varied programme of events for this year, please write for details of membership and meetings.
Venues: Monthly meeting at Woolmer Green, near Knebworth, plus various local area groups at St Albans and Hoddesdon.
The Society is a registered Charity and a member of the Federation of Family History Societies. The HFHS was founded in 1977 and has played an important role in family history research in this county.
The project work of the group includes participating in the National Burial Index Project, also the indexing of monumental inscriptions, censuses, militia lists, and Poor Law records of our county.
The HFHS tries to strike a balance between talks for the experienced family researcher and sessions for complete beginners who do not know where to start.
Non-members are always welcome.
