This organisation provides support, information and advice to people who have had , or are about to have amputations or those who have been born without upper or lower limbs.
It has a nationwide network of volunteers who are all amputees themselves. They will visit you at home or in hospital offering support and encouragement to prospective amputees, carers and those already trying to come to terms with a limb loss. They can also support your rehabilitation.
The association promotes user consultation in the running of artifical limb centres, monitors services, and works in partnership with statutory, commercial, voluntary and other bodies to raise standards and develop policy. Non-amputees may join as Associate Members or Friends.
