Bushey Link Stroke Club is a group of people who have had a stroke and meet socially once a week on Fridays from 10.00am-12.00noon at Bushey Youth and Community Centre.
The aim of the club is to get people who have had strokes out and meet people in similar circumstances which helps them gain their confidence again.
The morning commences with a little gentle exercise followed by some speech therapy, after which they have coffee and a raffle. The second half of the morning they play games, cards or domino's, sometimes they have guest speakers or arrange demonstrations of flower arranging or crafts. Occasionally the group will have a fish and chip lunch and finish later.
During the year they have three day outings.
The Club is a self financing group and members pay £1.00 per week (2005/6) which includes coffee, the raffle and transport each week.
All outings and lunches also come out of their funds.
