ASBAH provide services to people with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus, their families and their carers. They aim to keep their service users knowledge up to date, extend their choices, maximise opportunities for independence and so help their integration into society.
They also aim to influence government and the statutory services to improve their services for people with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus. ASBAH is a registered charity.
Advisers:
They have a network of Advisers who provide support advice to families and individuals. The service is backed up by specialist advisers in education, continence management, mobility and medical matters.
Information:
ASBAH produce publications and information sheets. 'Link', the ASBAH magazine is produced quarterly and can be obtained for a small yearly subscription.
Financial Support:
If financial assistance is required by service users, ASBAH will seek to direct people to sources of help.
Support for Research:
ASBAH supports research into the nature, causes, prevention and treatment of spina bifida and hydrocephalus.
