Afasic

Afasic is the UK charity representing children and young adults with communication impairments, working for their inclusion in society and supporting their parents and carers.

Many children do not develop speech and language as expected. They may experience difficulties with any or all aspects of speech and language - from moving muscles which control speech to the ability to understand language at all.

Afasic provides children, young people, families and professionals with:
* A telephone helpline service (open Mon-Fri 10.30am-2.30pm);
* Training, seminars and conferences;
* Information sheets, newletters and publications;
* Support through local groups;
* Expertise in developing good practice.
