Parkinsons Disease Society (North Herts and Stevenage Branch)

Venue: St John's Community Centre, St Johns Road, Hitchin.

The aim of the group is to provide an opportunity for people with Parkinson's and their carers to meet and enjoy a pleasant afternoon. The speakers are carefully chosen from relevant organisations. There is always a large selection of pamphlets and brochures available. A nurse or therapist from Lister Hospital attend on occasions to give advice and guidance where required. The branch welfare officers are always available to assist. Transport can be arranged if necessary and parking is provided.

It is a happy friendly group and the prime objective is the welfare of members. Meetings last about one and a half hours and include refreshments. Attendances average 30 with a mix of PwP's/Carers about 50/50.

We also have regular exercise sessions run by a Neuro Physiotherapist on the 2nd and 4th Fridays every month.
