The Branch is lively and friendly and consists of local people who are concerned with Parkinson's Disease. Please ring Sarah McKie for our Yearbook or Quarterly Newsletter.
Monthly Branch Meetings are usually held on the first Thursday of each month at either 2.00pm or 7.30pm in St Thomas' Church, 68 Langley Road, Watford, Herts WD17 4PN. There are often specialist speakers talking about Parkinson's Disease, its treatment and the lastest research. Sometimes we have speakers on PD related subjects or sometimes just general interest topics. Meetings last about 90 minutes and include refreshments. New members are especially welcome.
Our local Community Support Worker attends most Branch meetings to give advice and guidance where required. She has access to a wealth of literature relating to PD, and can also offer advice, including benefits and referrals to other services, over the phone or by visiting people at home.
We hold a variety of social activities for those with Parkinson's Disease; their friends and families are always welcome. This includes pub lunches, days out and an annual holiday. We also hold an annual day for carers.
Exercise classes are held weekly at Watford (10.30am Tuesday), Hemel Hemepstead (11.00am Friday) and St Albans (11.15 Wednesday).
If you need help getting to branch meetings or exercise classes, transport can be arranged. Please call 01442 874203 / 01442 215518 for further details.
