The CFS Research Foundation was established to support high quality research aimed at understanding the basis of CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, the illness usually known as ME) and its treatment. The Foundation is not a support group, but its donors receive information through an occasional newsletter.
The research is conducted in British universities and medical schools and in an American laboratory.
In the past few years researchers funded by the Foundation have discovered that the 88 genes which are abnormal in CFS/ME patients fall into at least seven subtypes which means that we shall be able to identify therapies much more rapidly and with greater immediate accuracy.
