This is the Herts and Beds branch of Lupus UK.
Lupus is an autoimmune disease in which the patient's immune system, instead of protecting the body from bacteria, viruses etc., attacks the person's own body tissues. This causes extreme fatigue, joint pain, muscle aches, anaemia, general malaise, and even organ damage.
Lupus UK is the only national charity operating Self-Help Groups throughout the UK for people with Lupus. It provides advice and counselling and publishes national and regional newsletters. Fund raising for Lupus research and welfare support is an essential part of its work.
