Nascent House is an 8 single bedroomed residential home. It is dedicated to the care and rehabilitation of men and women aged 18 years and upwards, who are genuinely seeking help in the resolution of the problems associated with drug and alcohol abuse.
Nascent House provides a non-judgemental, supportive and therapeutic environment with the focus on the whole person.
All new residents must meet the following criteria: be fully detoxed, ie. weened off all mind/mood altering drugs, including some prescribed drugs which include Diazepam, co-proximal, etc. Funding confimation must be in place priory to entry. We must be informed of any outstanding court hearings. Clients must have no history of violence, sexual offences or arson unless drug or alcohol related.
House rules: No alcohol/illicit/mind or mood altering drugs; No violence or verbal intimidation; No theft or wilful damage to property; No racism or sexism. Any illegal act will result in immediate ejection.
Daily group sessions cover feelings, assertive, addiction, communication, stress management and relapse prevention.
In addition each resident is allocated a key worker who will provide one-to-one sessions on a regular basis. To ensure a drug and alcohol free environment residents are subjected to random urine and blood test. Our programme is planned and structured to cover 6 months.
Nascent House is within walking distance to Hemel Hempstead shopping centre and leisure facilities.
Nascent House is staffed 24 hours. Referrals are taken Monday-Friday 9.30am-5.00pm (from any source).
