The Branch covers Hitchin, Letchworth, Baldock, Royston, Stevenage and all surrounding villages.
The Carers Support Group meets:
* Second Tuesday of each month at 2 Grove Road Hitchin.
* Last Wednesday of each month at Stevenage Pin Green Community Centre.
The Information Outpost takes place on the on the first Wednesday of each month at the Age Concern Outpost in Southgate Stevenage.
The cost is free to all carers. Others are invited to make a small annual donation. All services are provided free of charge.
The Alzheimer's Society is the leading UK care and research charity for people with Alzheimer's Disease and other forms of dementia. They are a registered charity.
They aim to bring together carers, family members, health and social care professionals, researchers and scientists, politicians and planners through shared concern for people with dementia and those who care for them.
The North Herts and Stevenage Branch employs two Outreach Workers to:
* provide support, training and information;
* publishes local information leaflets;
* provides an information outpost in Stevenage;
* runs a support group and helpline;
* provides a free respite service;
* runs a telephone information line;
* produces a free bi-annual newsletter.
They can provide a speaker to do talks.
Publications:- There is an extensive library of leaflets, books and videos that can be borrowed or purchased. Information is also available in different languages and on different formats.
