This Society aims to promote a better understanding amongst professionals and the general public of the difficulties that people with autism and their families face. It offers information, advice and support to people with autism, their families and carers.
The Society has developed a range of educational and support services for people with autism and it owns and manages schools, residential and day services for adults. It also provides training and organises a variety of courses and conferences for parents, carers and practitioners.
The Centre for Social and Communication Disorders in Kent offers a national diagnostic and assessment service. An Information Service offers help to professionals, students and researchers. The Helpline gives advice and information to parents, carers and people with autism.
A network of local societies and groups also provides a range of services for people with autism and their carers.
