Help and support to breastfeeding mums on a mother to mother basis. 24-hour counselling service.
La Leche League groups provide support by holding regular discussion meetings on various aspects of breastfeeding.
Each group maintains a library of books and leaflets on childbirth, breastfeeding and parenting which is available to anyone attending meetings.
La Leche League also provides information and support for women in special circumstances (e.g. blind or diabetic mothers).
La Leche League is the world's largest source of breast feeding and related information, some available in 287 languages. Over 100 different leaflets are available.
Monthly meetings are held in members' homes and community centres.
Membership £20.00 per year, unwaged £12.00; overseas £25.00; Health professional £33.00.
