APEC aims:
* To educate, inform and advise the public and health professionals about the nature and risks of pre-eclampsia;
* To campaign for greater public awareness of the disease and for action to improve the methods of detection and treatment of the disease;
* To provide support for people who suffer or who have suffered from pre-eclampsia and their families;
* To promote research into the causes of the disease and appropriate screening techniques and treatment methods.
APEC:
* Publishes newsletters and information leaflets.
* Operates a network of local befrienders.
* Organises conferences, study days and workshops for parents and health professionals.
* Runs a national telephone helpline for sufferers - open between 10.00am-1.00pm, Monday to Friday.
