Herts Mind Network is a rapidly expanding mental health charity delivering a range of self-help, education and therapeutic support groups in Hertfordshire.
With main bases in Hemel Hempstead and Ware, our aim is to promote positive mental health and assist recovery from mental and emotional distress by meeting the needs of individuals, enabling them to make informed choices and take control of their lives.
Herts Mind Network works to provide mental health services that are based on need and available to anyone. Referral can be through CMHTs, GPs or by individuals as a self-referral. After an initial appointment, a Personal Recovery-Orientated Plan (PROP) is developed in partnership with the individual. Taking a person centred approach, people are able to explore aspirations and set achievable goals.
We currently run a varied programme of recovery based services to people aged over 18. They all focus on the principle of self-help with a strong emphasis on peer support. These include Horizons, Friendship Network, Personal development courses, self help support groups, leisure groups, social groups, education groups, 3D and Mindworks. These are based in a variety of venues across the County.
We provide services specifically for carers to include support groups, pottery, stress management and relaxation. These groups are very much focused on the needs of the carers accessing the service at the time. Carers are also welcome to attend any of the range of education, leisure and self help courses on offer to service users.
