Rethink (NSF) is a voluntary organisation that helps people with severe mental illness, their families and carers.
Their aims are to:
* Influence decision makers to provide balanced hospital and community care resources;
* Spread understanding of the problems arising from severe mental illness;
* Encourage people with severe mental illness and their families and carers to help each other and themselves;
* Secure improvement of treatment and care and adequate financial security for people with severe mental illness;
* Provide and influence others to provide services in housing, education and training, rehabilitation and employment, recreation, information, advice and advocacy;
* Press for and so far as resources allow, sponsor research into the causes, consequences and management of severe mental illness.
