The East Hertfordshire Community Support Team provides an outreach service to people who have long term mental health problems, who are living in the community or who are being discharged from hospital. It also provides short stay respite accommdation, which can include breaks for carers.
The organisation runs a number of drop-ins and clubs aimed at:
- providing people with a social outlet
- encouraging people to participate in running their own activities
- providing light refreshment
- Encouraging people to develop their interpersonal skills
The service has one rehab hostel in Cheshunt which can cater for five people. The home has staff available 24 hours. Plus there are short-stay flats for respite breaks (one in Broxbourne and one in Hertford).
The Support Team also runs drop-in centres in Bishops Stortford, Cheshunt, Waltham Cross, Ware and Hertford. See below for further details:
Bishops Stortford
- Thursdays in the Markwell Pavillion, Castle Gardens from 10.30am-3.00pm.
Waltham Cross and Cheshunt
- Tuesdays - The Lighthouse, Waltham Cross from 12noon-3.45pm
- Wednesdays - Moonnrakers Club, Cheshunt from 7.30pm-9.45pm
- Fridays - The Lighthouse, Waltham Cross from 10.30am-3.45pm
Ware and Hertford
- Mondays - Quaker Rooms, Railway Street, Hertford from 10.00am-12.30pm
- Tuesdays - Gladstone Road, Ware from 10.00am-3.00pm
- Thursdays - River Rooms, Hertford from 10.00am-3.00pm
- Fridays - Gladstone Road, Ware from 10.00am-2.00pm
There are also additional groups that people can join, including music, photography, gardening, relaxation and walking groups.
