The organisation has over 30 years of experience in mental health. The community centre in Watford (Henry Smith House) and the outreach groups in Garston, Rickmansworth, Borehamwood and Potters Bar, aim to offer daytime support to people with long term mental health problems in a sociable and supportive environment.
A befriending scheme is available in the S W Herts area (S W Herts Befriending Scheme) for individuals who would like to expand their social support network. The aim of this service is to pair individuals who have mental health problems with volunteer befrienders for social outings. Most volunteer befrienders' expenses are paid for by Guideposts Trust. They also have an e-mail Befriending Scheme.
The Co-ordinator (Suzie Faulkner) is based in Watford and is contactable on 01923 288960.
The organisation also offers support to carers of people with mental health problems. Sessions are held once a month when guidance and support are offered.
The aims of this work are:
* To assist people to make better use of appropriate resources;
* Maintain people's mental health stability;
* Increase people's independence and facilitate integration into their communities.
