Contraceptive services are free and confidential to clients of all ages. All the staff in the service have specialist qualifications and several have experience in working in wider sexual health services.
All staff are trained in the practical issues around confidentiality, work to Fraser guidelines and understand the legal issues in relation to clients under the age of 16.
There is close co-operation with other local services particularly other sexual health services and services for young people.
There is a commitment to training and the service is represented on local strategy and planning groups.
Outreach services to schools are provided including contributing to the PSHE programmes and supporting Health Days.
They work in close partnership with Watford Sexual Health Centre and Waverley Wing Clinic, St Alban’s (see separate entries).

There are open access, self-referral sessions at all sites.
Services provided include:

* Pregnancy testing
* Free condoms
* All current methods of contraception (except the contraceptive patch)
* Specialist Implant and Coil fitting clinics
* Referral to other services including Termination of Pregnancy
* Psychosexual counselling
* Sexual Health advice
* Screening for sexually transmitted infections at Oxhey Drive Clinic
* Chlamydia screening available at selected sites
