This is a Consultant led clinic that tests children and adults with hearing loss, speach and language tinnitus (noise in the head) and balance problems.

The Clinic provides children and adults with free NHS/digital hearing aids (with batteries and tubing). It deals with hearing aid repairs and assessments only for children who attend the health centre at Hitchin and Danestrete in Stevenage and possibly, from next year, Herts County Hospital.

Adults are seen at the Lister Hospital, QEII Hospital and possbily will also be seen at Herts County Hospital. The department of Audiological Medicine comes under the Consultant in charge, Professor Basil A Shihabi, FRCS, who also provides a family investigation clinic for the causes of hearing loss in Herts, Beds, and parts of Essex.

Hearing aid repairs, batteries, tubes (Lister Hospital clinic) opening hours:
* Mondays 9.15am-12.00pm and 2.00pm-4.00pm.
