Chiropractic treat problems with the joints, bones, muscles and the effects they have on the nervous system. Working on all the joints of the body concentrating particularly on the spine, they use their hands to make often gentle specific adjustments (the chiropractic word for manipulation) to improve the efficiency of your nervous system and release your body's natural healing ability. Chiropractic does not involve any drugs or surgery. Most common condition treated at their clinic is due to back pain. However, chiropractors treat many conditions.
These are a few examples to help to relieve the pain and improve your functions: low back pain; sciatica; disc problems; neck pain, dizziness, headaches, migraines, sport and whiplash injuries, upper and lower limb pain, RSI and work injuries, chest and rib pain joint and arthritic pain. All these conditions are treatable at any age, including the elderly, pregnant women, sport enthusiast, children and babies.
Unless early signs of spine related pain are treated actively and in time, (normally two to six weeks from outset) further recurrences are eight times more likely. It may be necessary to rest for a few days, but if someone have chronic pain (pain longer than 6 weeks), have had spinal surgery, or have increasing disability with more frequent spells of pain, resting making them worse, not better. Active chiropractic treatment will address the cause of the pain and restore the body to strength.
