Herbal Medicine treats disease using plant remedies. It is the most ancient system of medicine, but is still the main method of treatment for 80% of the world population. Recent research has demonstrated the effectiveness of plant medicines in treating a variety of physical and emotional illnesses.

The modern Medical Herbalist, or Phytotherapist, uses similar diagnostic methods to those used in orthodox medicine, however they use only plant remedies to treat the patient. Most importantly, they aim to treat the cause of illness and not just the symptoms thus their consultations are detailed and wide-ranging covering many aspects of an individual's medical history, lifestyle, and diet.
