"The PCT is responsible for providing a range of services from health centres and clinics across the borough and from its two community hospitals at Edgware and Finchley. We steer the work of GP's and other primary care colleagues through the purchasing (sometimes referred to as 'commissioning') process and we are responsible for ensuring that hospital care and other specialist care is available when and where you need it" -Barnet Primary Care Trust website 2007.
Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS)
The Patient Advice and Liaison Service is here to help you when you have concerns or questions about your local NHS care and services. As a patient, relative or carer sometimes you may need to turn to someone for advice, support or assistance - PALS is there to provide that help.
PALS can help by:
* Providing advice and support to patients, relatives or carers.
* Providing information on NHS services.
* Listening to your concerns, questions or queries.
* Helping sort out problems as quickly as possible.
The PALS service opening hours:
Monday to Friday 9.00am to 5.00pm (an answer phone is available outside of these hours).
