BAAF Adoption & Fostering:
* promotes the highest standards of child centred policies and services;
* speaks out on behalf of looked after children;
* influences UK-wide policy and legislation;
* provides much-needed information and advice;
* promotes greater public understanding of adoption and fostering;
* supports BAAF members in their work.

Membership includes almost all local authorities and voluntary adoption agencies in the UK, over 50 independent fostering agencies, social workers, lawyers and health professionals, and over 1200 individual members.
