Summary Organisation also known as PET.
PET is a well-established course that teaches communication skills, enabling parents to create co-operative relationships in their families. The course includes theory, skills and practice, and is applicable to children of all ages.
The courses are based on the work of Dr Thomas Gordon who designed a training programme which teaches parents how to collaborate in making family rules, how to resolve conflicts amicably so no-one loses, and how to raise responsible self-disciplined children without using punishment.
Already well-known in many European countries, PET is a serious course of study delivered by an Authorised Instructor enabling parents to learn new skills. The instructors are willing to give introductory talks.
Courses can be arranged anywhere in Hertfordshire and other areas in the UK as requested and can be given in any appropriate premises - home, school, hall, etc. The cost for participants is approximately £120.00-£150.00 plus venue/travel costs as applicable (March 2007).
