Home-Start Stevenage is a voluntary organisation in which volunteers offer regular support, friendship and practical help to young families under stress in their own homes, helping to prevent family crisis and breakdown, and emphasising the pleasures of family life.
Aside from their volunteers service, Home-start Stevenage also offers families support by through groups that are held on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
New volunteers are always welcome. Parenting experience is essential as all families they support have at least one child under five and they ask volunteers to attend a preparation course. Courses are held either during the evening or day time at regular intervals through out the year. Please contact the office for further details.
