Jewish Women's Aid is an independent charity that is run by Jewish women for Jewish women affected by domestic violence.
Support is available through confidential freephone Helpline which is open Monday-Thursday between 9.30am-9.30pm (except Bank Holidays and festivals). There is also a 24hr answerphone outside of these hours and any messages are picked up daily. We provide individual support and counselling in the community and a Refuge for those Jewish women and children in need.
Counselling for women fleeing domestic violence is also available. Counselling is offered on a weekly, one-to-one basis and the service, which is provided by professional Jewish women, is free.
Jewish Women's Aid also offers outreach support for women living in the community. This provides advice and information on a wide range of issues, including housing, legal and welfare benefits.
The organisation also runs a Kosher refuge, which provides safe short-term accommodation for eight women and their children fleeing domestic violence.
JWA services may be accessed, in an emergency/out of hours, by contacting the Domestic Violence 24hour Helpline on 0808 2000 247(ask for Jewish services); or Dial 999.
