Hertfordshire Herb Group

Summary ALternative Name: Herts Herb Group

The Herb Group aims to share information, enthusiasm and knowledge about all aspects of herbs.

They meet at St Bonaventures Church Hall, 83 Parkway, Welwyn Garden City on the 1st Wednesday of every month (except August) at 8.00pm. Visits to gardens are also arranged.

Costs are £1.00 for members and £2.00 for visitors and annual subscription is £12.00.

The monthly meetings include talks and workshops, covering- herbal papermaking, dyeing with herbs and herb garden design. Topics covered are:
* The Propagation of herbs;
* Herbs in cooking;
* Aromatherapy;
* Herbs in cosmetics;
* Herbs for use around the house;
* Pot pourri making;
* Planning a herb garden;
* Companion planting;
* The medicinal properties of herbs.

The meetings sometimes feature a plant stall where members spare plants are sold at reasonable prices.

All ages welcome, and all are welcome to attend meetings, garden visits and the annual herbal quiz.

Most members are enthusiastic amateurs, plus herbalists, gardeners and aromatherapists.
