The aims of the Friends of the Hertfordshire Way are:
* To promote this 190 mile long route which follows a circular path through the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside. The route is way marked to the standard of the national long distance paths.
The Guide: The Second edition to the route (published in early 2006) shows two new legs (making 16 legs in all) taking us down to the River Lea and also includes some minor improvements to the original route. The guide has maps, illustrations and where possible places with some public transport access for the end points of each leg. The Guide (ISBN 1-903747-16-9) costs £8.99 and is available from bookshops or from the publishers, Bookcsatle, 12 Church Street, Dunstable, Beds LU5 4RU. The Guide is also available from: Friends of Hertfordshire Way, c/o 53 Green Drift, Royston SG8 5BX. Please enclose a completed address slip. * To encourage an appreciation of walking in the Hertfordshire countryside and to protect the rights of way in the county.
* To publicise and develop the Hertfordshire Way as a long distance walking route.
* To organise monthly walks on Mondays.
