Cornmill Meadows Dragonfly Sanctuary (Waltham Abbey)

The Sanctuary is looked after by Lee Valley Regional Park Authority.
This is the single best place to see dragonflies in Greater London, Essex and Hertfordshire. Visit the site between May and September and you could see up to 23 different types, that’s half of Britain’s native species all on this Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSi).
A Tree Park, once the Greater London Council’s Arboretum is next to the Sanctuary and you can also walk along the Meridian Line during your visit.
