The woods are located within Oak Hill Park which is off Church Hill Road in East Barnet. There is a car park within the park next to the Golf Course.
The origin of the woods can be traced back to medieval times. The reserve contains both oak woodland and meadows, and is a great place to see bats flying on summer evenings.
A network of paths allows visitors to discover the reserve. Paths can become muddy when the weather is wet.
The reserve is managed by the Barnet Group of the London Wildlife Trust.
