This is a volunteer group whose aim is to preserve and enhance the nature conservation value of Stocker's Lake, a major wildfowl refuge in the Colne Valley south of Rickmansworth. There are regular working parties and members receive two or three newsletters per year.
The lake is a Local Nature Reserve and is owned by Three Valleys Water Company and managed by Herts & Middlesex Wildlife Trust. There is some public access for birdwatching and walking.
Membership of the Friends costs £3 per year. This is a major source of income to pay for work on the reserve.
