The Trust now concentrates on conserving the entire habitat where wild cats live. The first reserve bought in pursuit of this new policy is in Misiones, Argentina, where five species of cats live in an area of virgin forest. Reserves in seven other countries are planned.
The Trust also acts as a rescue organisation for unwanted cats from Zoos and other collections. Its band of volunteers currently cares for 50+ cats at its Head Quarters in Welwyn. The cats are not on public view, but Trust members and educational groups can visit by appointment.
Nobody working for the Trust is paid. There are always opportunities for voluntary workers covering a wide range of skills at the Trust's HQ in Welwyn.
