Created in 1883 and officially endorsed by the French government, Alliance Francaise is a worldwide french teaching association with 1200 centres in 138 countries. The aim of Alliance Francaise is to widen the access to French language and culture through education and cultural exchanges. In the UK courses and cultural activities are offered through a well established network of 13 schools and 53 clubs.
