Educational Grants Advisory Service:
EGAS provides information and advice on funding for post-16 education, enabling individuals to gain access to education to improve their quality of life and employment opportunities.

Guide to Student Funding:
The guide provides comprehensive advice and information on sources of funding available in the UK for education and training loans, grants, benefits, hardship funds, bursaries and charitable trusts. This information is published on the EGAS website. A PDF version of the guide is available for affiliated organisations.

Trust Fund Search:
Students can identify educational trusts that may be eligible to apply to and check whether they are eligible to apply for funding from FWA. This search is available in the Trust Fund Search section of EGAS website (www.egas-online.org.uk/fwa/trustsearch.htm). Based in information provided the student may be eligible for FWA funds and the system will prompt the individual to print off an application form.

Written Enquiries:
If students are unable to access the Trust Fund Search available on the website they can complete a written questionnaire and EGAS will supply information on educational trust funds to which they may be eligible to apply based on the information provided in the questionnaire. A copy of the Student Questionnaire can be obtained by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope to EGAS, 501-505 Kingsland Road. Students should note that EGAS has a very small staff team and it may take up to 6 weeks to receive a response. If at all possible students should use the on-line Trust Fund Search instead.

Telephone Helpline:
EGAS operates a telephone advice line on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 2.00pm-4.00pm only. Experienced student advisors are available to answer questions on statutory and non-statutory funding sources for post-16 education.

Educational Grants:
EGAS is not a grant-giving body itself; however, EGAS is part of the Family Welfare Association (FWA), which is trustee to a number of educational trusts with a range of eligibility criteria. Students cannot apply to these trusts directly; all enquiries should be addressed to EGAS via the Trust Fund Search or through a written enquiry.
