University of the Third Age in Harpenden (U3A)

Summary Organisation also known as University of the Third Age in Harpenden.

Venue: The Harpenden Trust Centre, 90 Southdown Road, Harpenden (opposite Plough & Harrow Pub).
Times: Thursday (term time) 2.00pm for 2.30pm start of meeting, finishing approx 4.00pm.

At Thursday meetings we usually invite a speaker to give a talk, these are varied and on a range of subjects with time for questions and discussions afterwards.

Sometimes our own members give a talk, usually illustrated with slides.

There are various groups: music, play reading, poets & poetry, book reading, needlecraft, bridge and French conversation which meet in members' houses either weekly or fortnightly.

We usually organise an outing by coach to NT properties or similar and a theatre/gallery visit by train each term and there is a local walk of about 4/5 miles fortnightly, weather permitting.
