The U3A are democratic, self funded, self managed organisations that exist to provide day-time education and leisure activities for retired men and women at minimal cost.
This new branch started in February 2000, offers some 850 members a variety of opportunities to use their knowledge, skills and experience and to acquire new ones in an informal, friendly atmosphere.
Activity groups include: Antique and Collectables, Creative Writing and Poetry, Discussion, Exploring London, French Gardening, Listening to Music, Pub Lunches, Reading for Pleasure, Short Walks, Home Counties Visits, World Religions, Watercolour Painting, The Arts, Crafts, Flower Arranging, Industrial Heritage, Local History, Mah Jong, Singing and Making Music, Ballroom Dancing, Computing for Beginners, Genealogy, Spanish and Tai Chi etc.
There are currently more than 500 U3As in the UK with over 122,000 individual members. By joining a local U3A you will become a member of a growing dynamic, outward looking organisation which has a positive and creative approach to retirement.
