The WEA is a 21st Century democratic, voluntary adult education movement committed to widening participation and to enabling people to realise their full potential through learning. We aim to provide friendly, informal and enjoyable courses with expert tutors.

Commencing Tuesday 16th September 10.00am
Course: London Gardens: Centres of innovation: royal, ecclesiastical, municipal, commercial, botanical. Squares and private gardens changed as London grew.
Tutor: Katherine Myers.
Commencing Wednesday 17th September 10.00am
Course: Exploring the Icknield Way/Ridgeway Path: Tracing the long distance route from southwest England into East Anglia and the interesting places on the way.
Tutor: Paul Palmer.
Commencing Tuesday 13th January 2009
Course: Literature - Booker Prize Winners: Considering the literary merits of the winners over the last ten years and trying to decide what made them winners. Will these books stand the test of time or were they just fulfilling some fashions?
Tutor: Gillian Knibbs.
Commencing Wednesday 9th Janurary 2009
Course: Local Natural History: An introduction to your local countryside and wildlife.
Tutor: Brian Sawford.
Venue: Bancroft Hall, Hitchin
Bancroft Hall has access and facilities for the disabled.
Fees for course of 10 sessions: £43.00.
Enrolement at first session.
All WEA courses are free to students who receive mean-tested benefits or unemployment benefit or job seeker's allowance.
