The Independent Living Centre opened in June 1997. Health and Social Services have jointly funded the centre to provide a central resource facility, a point of contact and a range of services to people with physical and sensory disabilities and their carers, living in the West Essex area.
The Centre aims to:
* Improve people's quality of life by providing information and equipment to enable them to live a full and independent life in the community;
* Treat visitors to the Centre with dignity and respect.
Services include:
* 3000 sq feet of storage for equipment;
* Loan of equipment - following health and social services assessment referrals;
* Continence Resource Centre - distribution via ILC, not retail provision;
* West Essex wheelchair service (Holly Wheelchair Service).
Opening Hours: Monday-Friday 9.00am-4.30pm.
