Doves

Doves are early years' groups run by the Specialist Advisory Service for parents and carers of those babies and pre-school children (0-4 years) where a visual impairment is the primary need.

Each group is run by teachers and learning support assistants specialising in the education and support of visually impaired children. Children are welcome to attend more than one group.

The groups provide:

* a safe environment for children with visual impairments to play together.
* help and advice on developmental issues.
* a better understanding of the eye condition and its effect on development.
* ideas on suitable activities to help children progress.
* an opportunity to discuss parental concerns regarding access to education.
