Papworth Trust. Employment Service

The Papworth Employment Service helps people who are on benefits because of a disability or health issue to find and keep a job. We work with people who have long term unemployment because of their disability, as well as those who have acquired a disability as a result of a workplace injury, serious illness or a road traffic accident.

As well as helping people to get a job, we also work with people and their employers where health issues are causing concern for either party. Where an employee's health is putting their job in jeopardy we are able to provide practical support - for instance job shadowing can help identify and overcome many difficulties. Our local advisers already provide on-going 1:1 support for over 220 people in permanent employment with over 100 host companies.

We can also provide practical advice and guidance to businesses about employing or retaining a disabled employee. 'Diversity builds better business' is an easy-to-use toolkit, available as either a pdf or ring bound book, which provides employers with a valuable free training resource to help them and their staff become more knowledgeable about disability issues.
