The library covers all aspects of hearing, speech and language, and specialises in literature on deafness - from academic journals, research reports and student textbooks to children's books and novels with deaf characters. Its collection of historical material has earned it a reputation as the archives of the deaf community.
Material relates to human communication disorders. About 5,000 books and 150 periodicals. Reference facilities; photocopies; reading lists; interlibrary loans.
The library is owned by the RNID but is run by UCL.
Opening Hours (except Bank Holidays):
Monday and Tuesday 9.00am-7.00pm;
Wednesday and Friday 9.00am-5.30pm.
The library is not wheelchair accessible but if wheelchair users wish to contact the library in advance, alternative arrangements can be made.
