The Torch Trust for the Blind produces Christian literature in braille, giant print and on tape for visually impaired people in the United Kingdom and overseas. They offer a free postal library service and organise house parties and day conferences.
All the books have a Christian content and are written from a Christian stand-point. The largest selection (1800 titles) is on audio cassette tape. Due to copyright and postal restrictions, these books are only available to registered visually impaired people, and those whose sight is less than N12 as certified by a medical practitioner. A suitable form for this purpose is available from Torch House. Material is also available in Braille, Moon type or giant print.
Torch also run adventure holidays and family holidays for all age groups at Holiday Resort Centre near Brighton.
Torch Fellowship Groups: These are gatherings of people, visually impaired and sighted, who meet together for companionship and care in a christian atmosphere. The meeting is followed by tea, where folk can chat and make new friends.
