The Newspaper was founded over 30 years ago and is a self-funding registered charity providing a recorded local news service to a growing number of blind or visually impaired people in and around the borough of Barnet. The paper is run entirely by unpaid volunteers. At the present time there are some 250 listeners.
Each week an editorial team receives advance copies of local newspapers and extracts items which are considered to be of interest to the listeners. This selection includes not only general news but information as to local entertainments, meetings of various kinds etc, about which the staff think the listeners would find it useful to be informed. This information is provided on both CD's and audio cassettes.
The service is free of charge and delivered by post. Please contact for further information.
